{"id":44503,"date":"2025-09-18T08:16:11","date_gmt":"2025-09-18T08:16:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saharafootball.net\/?p=44503"},"modified":"2025-09-18T08:16:11","modified_gmt":"2025-09-18T08:16:11","slug":"king-faisal-petitions-cas-to-annul-new-term-limit-extension-of-gfa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saharafootball.net\/king-faisal-petitions-cas-to-annul-new-term-limit-extension-of-gfa\/","title":{"rendered":"King Faisal petitions CAS to annul new term limit extension of GFA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Division One League side King Faisal Football Club have formally filed a complaint to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, challenging the constitutionality of the Ghana Football Associations (GFA) ordinary congress and the resolutions passed during the last month\u2019s meeting.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block; text-align: center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-7515973527815049\" data-ad-slot=\"5197133662\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p>In a letter dated September 15, 2025, King Faisal, through its legal representative, Evans Adika Law, claimed that the GFA should not have held its congress because it was formally served with a notice of injunction.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018\u2018The Ghana Football Association (GFA) was formally served with a legal challenge to the alleged Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on August 12, 2025, and the resolution allegedly passed during that meeting.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Subsequently, the club has written to Lausanne-based CAS, ostensibly to reverse the decisions taken by Congress on August 12 and address other \u2018\u2019irregularities\u2019\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018\u2018This challenge, filed at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne, Switzerland, seeks to address significant governance and procedural irregularities that undermine the legitimacy of the GFA\u2019s actions related to and during the alleged AGM.
